History and Vision

Revive Legal Services was founded in April 2018.  We held our first legal clinic in September 2018 at For the Nations Refugee Outreach.  In Fall 2019 we added two new clinic locations: Fellowship Bible Church and Irving Bible Church.  Our 2020 Vision is to grow these existing clinics, build our volunteer base, and connect with more partner organizations.

The Need

Texas ranks 47th in the nation in access to legal aid services.  Less than 10% of the poor’s civil legal needs are met.  Dallas has one of the highest child poverty rates in the United States.

Services

Participants receive a 45 to 60 minute appointment with a licensed, Texas attorney.  We give them an action plan so that they can move forward with their lives.  Non-attorney volunteers provide hospitality, intake, and referrals.  We offer to pray with participants and talk about Jesus.  The majority of participants are Muslim and Christian, some follow Eastern religions.

Giving Back

Revive offers attorneys an opportunity to integrate their faith with the practice of law.  It is a tangible way for attorneys and non-attorneys to pursue justice in their communities.
